Week 1
Tuesday 29 June
Music Mix (Ages 6 - 11) Cost R100
Kids create music using loops from our instrument library. They need no music background for this course, and individual guidance is provided. Compositions will be recorded onto a CD to take home.
Wednesday 30 June
Multi-Media Mash-Up (Ages 6 - 11) Cost R110
We create music video multi-media mash-up projects! The projects include drawings, photographs, music, text and video. It’s a bit like digital scrap booking, with the added bonus of moving picture, sound and music. Kids get a DVD to take home that will impress friends and family.
Thursday 1 July
Jam Session / Soundscape (Ages 10-15) Cost R100
Do you play an instrument and want to be part of an impromptu recording session? These sessions are a new concept at the SoundHouse. They are aimed at children who already play instruments, or can sing. The idea is to work as a group ensemble coming up with ideas as individuals, improvising as a group and resulting in a recording by the group(s). Although we have some instruments, please bring yours along! Please call for more information.

Monday 5 July and Tuesday 6 July
Digital Stories (Ages 6 - 11) Cost R220
2 Days of interactive digital storyboard creation. We’ll write a script, develop characters, draw or stop animate their movements and add sound effects and music to tell the story.
Wednesday 7 July and Thursday 8 July
Music Video Producer (Ages 10 - 15) Cost R220
Together, we’ll workshop a concept, add visuals, audio sfx, music and film. Create a music video project using our clips and loops library, photos, animation, graffiti, music or text – we can also add footage we film as a group. This is a 2-day workshop.
