A fun, first experience for younger children. Explore the exciting worldof musical instruments, sound effects and microphones while learning basic principles of sound and music. Kids create a song, radio DJ announcements or their first arrangements.


Age group: Ages 6-11

Level: Introductory





Students work in pairs to create music using a virtual MIDI* workstation and MIDI* keyboard controller. Record a drum or rhythm track. Add a bass track and layer more instruments. In the process participants learn song writing and arrangement skills. Once the final project is saved, it can be recorded onto CD.

Compose Yourself II follows up on I and allows more creative freedom to either expand the project or create new compositions. Recordings of other instruments such as guitars or woodwinds, as well as vocals, are possible with extended sessions.


Age group: Students aged 12-17 or interested adults.

Level: A fun introductory course for students/learners and/or adults who have some basic computer skills.








Create a multi-media project that could include sound effects, music, photographs drawings drums, bass, guitars etc. Once the mash-up is complete, take home a DVD to impress friends and family!


Age group: Students aged 6 -11

Level: A fun course for little people with some basic technology skills, to explore their creativity.






Use our clips library and select from a range of movie clips. Choose from a range of sound effects and musical instruments to compose your own movie soundtrack or import your previously created song.


Age group: Students aged 6 -17 or interested adults

Level: A fun course for students/learners and/or adults who have some (even if only very limited) basic computer skills. More advanced sessions are available for those who have completed other SoundHouse courses. During extended sessions it is possible to film footage and to import other media such as drawings, photographs and animation.







This course is aimed at students who have either previously attended a SoundHouse session, or who is quite skilled musically and want to record their ideas. Bring your lyrics, melodies and instruments and learn to compose, arrange, and record your song.


Age group: 12 and up

Level: Intermediate
